Adult Single bags - For the collection of 450ml +/- 45ml of whole blood with a 16g needle. Each foil pack contains 10 blood collection bags. The shelf life of the whole blood unit is 35 days at 4°C. This ideal for collecting blood from dogs larger than 25kg.

Double blood bag can collect 450ml +/- 45ml of whole blood and separate it into two components: packed red blood cells and plasma. Each foil pack contains 5 bags, with the satellite bag holding up to 300ml. A 16g needle is used for blood collection. The red blood cell unit has a shelf life of 35 days when stored at 4°C.

Triple Bags with SAGM are designed to collect 450ml +/- 45ml of whole blood and separate it into two components: packed red blood cells and plasma. Each foil pack contains 5 bags. By using saline-adenine-glucose-mannitol (SAGM) to preserve the red blood cells after separation, their lifespan can be increased by 20%. This addition also reduces the haematocrit of the packed cells, resulting in improved flow and less damage when administered. The plasma can also be frozen for future use as fresh frozen plasma. If the red blood cells are not used within 35 days, the costs of blood collection can be offset by using the fresh frozen plasma.

Quad Blood Bags are designed for collecting and separating 450ml +/- 45ml of whole blood. Each foil pack contains 3 bags, including 4 satellite bags with a capacity of 100ml each. A 16g needle is used for collecting whole blood, and the 4 satellite bag system allows for dividing the blood into 4 small units, perfect for use on smaller patients. Additionally, this system can also be used to separate blood into packed cells and plasma. The shelf life of the red blood cell units is 28-35 days at 4°C, providing the benefit of two units each of packed cells and plasma that can be frozen for future use, reducing waste and ideal for transfusion into smaller dogs.

Processing whole blood into packed red blood cells and fresh frozen plasma within 8 - 12 hours of collection preserves its clotting factors. When using this method, the red blood cells can be stored for 4 - 6 weeks at 4°C, while the fresh frozen plasma can be stored for 1 - 2 years at -18°C, ensuring that both components remain usable for extended periods of time. Additionally, processing whole blood into these components prevents the loss of clotting factors and allows for their efficient and timely use.
